After graduation from the RCHS and University of South Dakota, I began teaching third grade in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but soon moved to New Jersey with my family. I returned to teaching in the fall of 1967. Continuing education, teaching at Kean College New Jersey, and the need for specialization developed into becoming the Reading - Writing Specialist in an elementary school with no walls. I retired from teaching this July after 44 years and am looking forward to having the time to travel and spend more time with my daughter, two-step daughters, five grandchildren, and a beautiful, blue-eyed brat of a cat named Bailey in this never-before- experienced and newly acquired, unstructured time.
