On July 16, 2005 a wildfire erupted near the home of classmate Jan (Morris) Dowlin.
To say that there was a bit of excitement is an understatement. Pictures were taken
by her husband Phil, and were used by the Rapid City Journal in their news report.
About 30 acres of forest burned, but only one home in the area suffered fire damage.
The helicopters shown in the pictures, used water from the water hazard at Meadowbrook
Golf Course.
