RCHS Class of " 61" Reunion Committee Meeting Minutes 9 August 2005 45th Year (2006)
a. The minutes of the last meeting were sent to all attendees and there were no additions or corrections to the minutes. They were also posted on the web site by Ron.
Ron Laughlin reported that the web site was up at rchs61.org and that he paid for 1 year service and 2 years on the domain name for a total of $ 189.49.
There was a motion and a second and was unanimously passed by the committee to have the treasurer write a check for $ 189.49 and reimburse Ron for the web site expenditure.
Ron also indicated that there is room on the web site for 50 email addresses and that he has used 1 so others can put an email address on the site at no extra cost.
Roger Lauer reported details of the information that he had garnered from the Canyon Lake Chop House (Receptions) which included the cost of about $ 50 each for two catered meals and also the only days available in June or August were Wednesdays and Thursdays, not weekend days which are filled up with weddings.
Roger next reported on the 2nd consideration site as the Robbinsdale Casino owned and operated by classmate Lanny (Joe) Tennyson. Roger reported that Joe would close the Casino Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the public and allow the class to use the facility for free all three days. He would charge about $ 5.00 for the Friday night bar-b-q and $ 9.00 for the Saturday night banquet buffet meal. Many things are available in the casino to include pool, video games and bowling would be $ 1.00 per lane. It was also noted that Joe had plans to build a beer garden in the Spring. The group discussed this and was concerned about smoke smell and smoking in the casino. There appears to be ample parking for the reunion.
The next report was from Les Davis and he indicated that the Elks Club could do both meals and they had recently remodeled the downstairs area. Some committee members noted that the food and service had not been the best the last time they were there.
There was considerable discussion on all 3 sites but no decision was made. The Arrowhead was added as a possible site and Roger was going to check into that.
It was noted to the attendees that if they had questions about a particular site to call Roger or go by and check it out for themselves.
The committee concluded that a decision needed to be made at the September 8th meeting in order to get the post cards out to classmates in a timely fashion by October.
The date was also discussed and the two under consideration were still 23-24-25 June or 25-26-27 August 2006.
Les Davis indicated that once the date and place were decided he could further look into golf on Saturday morning for those classmates that wanted to golf. There was a committee member question as to whether we needed to always golf at the reunion? There was some discussion about that but it was thought that it could be offered as an option only as before.

Karen Raben reported that she and Tim were step on guides for hills tours and that something could be set up for Saturday morning or afternoon again. There was considerable discussion on offering this option again and no decision was made. Classmates were encouraged to send the committee members an email with ideas, preferences, etc. for optional tours on Saturday.
Toni Nicholson requested that we print out about 10-12 copies of the 2001 mailing list of classmates with addresses, etc. and that at the September meeting we would go through the list and update to the best of our ability. We will dedicate the last hour of the meeting to the registration update. It was also decided to do only two mailings this year with a post card sent out immediately after the 13 October meeting and the sign up letter in the Spring (February or so)
There were no additional items presented for discussion at this meeting.
Respectfully submitted
Earl R. McKinstry, Recorder
